How to Customize or Minimize the Ribbon in Word 2010 ?
Microsoft initially included the ribbon UI in the Office 2007 and with the Office 2010 , it provides more option to customize the Ribbon and save more space in the working area .
To customize the ribbon , just right click on the Ribbon .

To hide the ribbon, just right click on the Ribbon and click the Minimize the Ribbon button .
The other option is to click the arrow button which ic close to the help button . This will also minimize the ribbon .
To customize the ribbon , Right-click on the ribbon and select “Customize the Ribbon” button .
This will allow the user to customize the Ribbon and allows the user to add and remove different commands from the Tabs ( Home , Insert ) etc that is displayed on the Ribbon .

Shame they didn’t include the option to turn it off and use the previous menus. It was one of the main reasons i switched to open office.
