My Top 5 Open Source software for May 2011
Last month , i wrote an article on “My favourite 5 Opensource Projects – April 2011″ .
In this blog post , i talk about my top 5 open source projects in May 2011 that i have come across and used it . I have also made sure that i avoided repeating the software from the previous month .
1. Task Coach
It is a friendly task manager or a simple todo manager that helps the users to manage personal tasks and todo lists.
The Task Coach can deal with composite tasks too .
2. Greenshot
Greenshot is a revolutionary screenshot tool that is optimized for productivity .
Greenshot allows the user to save the screenshot or part of the screen to a file easily and also lets the users to apply text and shapes to the screenshot .
3. Clonezilla
Clonezilla is a partition or disk clone tool similar to Norton Ghosta which saves and restores only used blocks in hard drive.
There are 2 types of Clonezilla
- Clonezilla live
- Clonezilla SE (Server Edition).
4. MediaInfo
MediaInfo lets the users to retreive the information and tags about different multimedia files .
Currently MediaInfo supports the following formats AVI,OGM,MKV,MPG,VOB,MP4,3GP etc
5. Sweet Home 3D
Sweet Home 3D is a interior design Application developed in Java that lets the users to quickly select and place furniture on a house 2D plan drawn by the end-user, with a 3D preview.





Task coach look to me really promising , by the way have you used task coach by yourself, how do you find it ?
