Fix for Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 for blurred fonts
Microsoft has released a fix for the font rendering problem in Internet Explorer 9 .
As per the article KB2545698 ,
“Text that is displayed in the following core fonts in Windows Internet Explorer 9 appears blurred, when you compare it to text in Windows Internet Explorer 8:
◦Arial (10-point and 11-point)
◦Verdana (9-point and 10-point)
◦Tahoma (11-point and 13-point),”
“This issue occurs because of a design change to rendering is made in Internet Explorer 9. By default, Internet Explorer 9 uses sub-pixel positioned ClearType to render text by using DirectWrite, whereas Internet Explorer 8 uses whole-pixel positioned ClearType to render text by using the Microsoft Windows graphics device interface (GDI)”

Well I have to laugh, Microsoft’s KB2545698 fix and silly sub-pixel rendering stuff in IE9 post-fix has made the problem even worse. Now smaller Verdana fonts look almost exactly like Arial Narrow. Thanks Microsoft
, we web designers really appreciate your efforts.. uggh.
Indeed, IE9 now cannot even display a standard font in a normal way. Microsoft did it again! GRRRRR!
