Repairing the pst File with Microsoft Outlook 2010 Inbox Repair tool
Sometimes it may be possible that the Outlook PST file might be corrupted and you might need to repair the pst file with a tool to fix it .

This was an error that i was receiving recently
“Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.” .
Trying to restart the outlook nor reinstalling the Office fixed the issue .
In this case , you can either try running the Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 in safe mode , if tthis does not solve the problem , another option could be to use the Inbox Repair tool that comes with Outlook 2010 .
Wait a minute . Outlook 2010 Inbox repair tool ? where do i find that ??
You might not see this tool in the Start -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Office Tools . So where do we find it ?
You can find it here
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\SCANPST.exe .
Double click on the file SCANPST.exe to Open Microsoft Outlook Inbox Repair Tool .
Browse and locate your PST file and click start to proceed where you can backup the existing PST file and then continue repairing the existing one .

As Scanpst.exe is a hidden file , so sometimes user may face difficulties in finding the location of Scanpst.exe file. To make it visible it is required to enable “Show Hidden Files and Folders” option.
Windows Vista and Windows 7 :
-Go To Start and open control Panel. Click on Appearance and Personalization
-Click on Folder Options and then click on View tab.
-Click on Advanced Settings and select Show Hidden Files and Folders and click OK.
Windows XP :
-Open My computer and go to Tools menu → Folder Options.
-Now in Folder option , click on View tab → under Hidden Files and Folders select Show Hidden Files and Folders and then click Ok.
