How to minimize Ribbon in Windows 8 Explorer by Default ?
Do you like the Microsoft Office 2010 UI?? . If yes you might relate something from Office 2010 to Windows 8. Yes, it’s the Ribbon.
The Ribbon includes some of the frequently used shortcuts which may be helpful for the users to identify the most commonly used commands easily.
Well, this might be good, but sometimes might occupy lot of space in the Explorer. We can minimize the Ribbon in Windows 8 by default and keep it that way too by editing the Windows Group Policy.
Open the Run window by pressing Windows Key + R and open gpedit.msc
Navigate to Computer Configuration – Administrative Templates – Windows Components – Windows Explorer and double click Start Windows Explorer with Ribbon minimized .
In the Start Windows Explorer with Ribbon minimized Dialog, select “Enabled” .
Now try to launch the Windows Explorer, you should see the Ribbon is minimized by default
